Nikolaos
Agios Nikolaos is a magnificent place at the northeast
side of Crete. The famous deep inner lake of Agios Nikolaos
"Voulismeni", which is surrounded by high rockfaces, is
faboulous. It was connected with the harbour between 1867
and 1871 by a canal. People say that the lake is bottomless,
it is forbidden to swimm in. Agios
Nikolaos is a real nice touristplace; during summertime there
are many restaurants, hotels,
bars and shops.
