Chania
CHANIA. Chania
is a beautiful city at the north of Crete, after Heraklion
the biggest of the island. Chania has both Turkeys as Venetian
elements which still adorn many parts of the city. It is
an very old city, in Minoan times it was, after Knossos,
the most important city. Only with an other name: Kydonia.
Especially from the Minoan times there are left over many
monuments. At the harbour are lots of Venetian houses, with
in between small streets with many little shops. The nightlife
in Chania is good and we advise dinner in one of the restaurants
at the harbour. In the area of Chania are many nice beaches.
