Grevena Greece

Grevena. Grevena, the southernmost region of Western Macedonia, borders Epirus to the west, the prefectures of Kastoria and Kozani to the north and Thessaly to the south.  Grevena is the least densely populated and third-least populous prefecture in Greece , having only 42.000 inhabitants. It is also one of the most mountainous prefectures of the country and the people that live here are mainly stock-breeders and farmers. The surroundings of Grevena are fascinating and here is where the national park of Valia Kalda is situated with its Brown Bear. Captital of the prefecture is the homonymous town of Grevena. The town lies on the eastern side of the northern Pindos mountains.
