Imathia. In the western site of central Macedonia lies Imathia, home of Vergina. The history of Imathia extends through the centuries and is connected with all the phases of the Greek history. Human structures made their appearance in the prehsistoric ages, at the settlement of New Nicomedia we can find one of the most ancient neolithic settelements of Europe (6,000 BC) Imathia of today has developed considerably at the agricultural and industrial sectors. With its interesting towns, traditional villages and numerous unique archaelogical sites, Imathia attracts visitors and toursits from all over the world.

The Ski slopes and piste at Seli: The ski installations and tracks at Seli and 3-5 Pigdia offer good service to a large number of visitors.

Vergina: At the foot of the mountain range of Pieria, where Vergina is located nowadays, was built Aeges, the capitla of Macedonia, where the royal necropolis was also located. The royal graves of Vergina, Philippe's grave and their archaelogical finds, are without doubt monuments of worldwide radiance.

Mount Vermio: Some of the noteworthy sights of Mount Vermio are the locations of Kastania and Panagia Soumela, famous shrine and resort, the mountainous campsite of Grameni and Agios Nikolaos springs.

Naoussa: In the region of Naoussa, there are also important Macedonian graves at the village named Lefkadia, where three very important tomb monuments are situated. In this area we can find the ancient Mieza and the Aristoteles' school. Aristoteles was the teacher of Alexander the Great.

Veria: Veria city is the capital of the prefecture of Imathia and is built in the eastern slopes of the Vermion mountain. This city is ancient in origin and appeared in historical texts around the 5th century BC
