Glossa and Loutraki. Glossa and Loutraki are two villages in the northwest of the Greek island of Skopelos. Glossa is the village atop the mountain, Loutraki is the harbour and the beach, down by the sea. Glossa is a mixture of a modern city with many beautiful buildings and many old traditional buildings.
The view to the sea and the opposite islands of Skiathos and Evia is very beautiful, especially the blue colours. When you arrive in Glossa, then it's best to just park the car at the big church. From there you can walk through the narrow streets, where no cars are allowed. You can see many beautiful gardens with flowers and cute balconies. Many houses are built in the Macedonian style architecture, which you can recognize from the ceramic tiles of the houses.
A walk down to the harbour and beach of Loutraki takes less than fifteen minutes. Here is the fishing port of Loutraki. Several times a week the boat of the shipping service “Skiathos- Skopelos- Alonissos” makes a stop here. Behind the port there are some sandy-pebble beaches where you can swim. There are some terraces where one can eat or drink. Glossa and Loutraki are about twenty-five kilometres from Skopelos Town and are easily reachable within five minutes by car. The road here is admittedly tortuous but good to drive and it is nice to experience the nature of Skopelos.
