Megisti - Kastelorizo (Greece)
Megisti. Megisti, with its 500 inhabitants, is the capital of the Greek island of Kastelorizo. The town has a scenic location in a bay, on the slopes of a rocky mountain. The houses are picturesque and consist of two or three floors. The roofs are covered with ceramic tiles and have colorful window frames and doors.
Most of the restaurants and cafeterias are located around the port of Megisti. Here you will see many yachts and sailboats. In winter, Megisti is a relatively quiet place. It is almost completely empty. In summer, especially in high season, it is busy again. This is because of the many Australian Greeks who come here for a vacation. Many own homes here.
