Aghios Fokas, Kos. Aghios Fokas is the area that is located in the southeast of the Greek island of Kos. It is located about 8 kilometers (5 mi) from Kos town and is accessible by bus in just 15 minutes. Great hotels are located here making the area very attractive, from a touristic point of view. A large part of the road contains a cycle path, making it very bicycle friendly.
Some major hotels are located on the beach in Aghios Fokas. It’s a well-developed tourist zone. Don’t miss the terrific and environmentally conscious beach bar, the Aghios Fokas beach club. The Club is dedicated to recycling and fitness activities are common on the beach.
The village of Aghios Fokas does not exist; there isn’t a real village center. The entire area is referred to as Aghios Fokas. The terrain is hilly, and perched on these slopes are the Dimitra Beach Resort and the Sentido Michelangelo Resort. The view from here is very beautiful. At and near these hotels, are two pebble beaches. The beaches are easily accessible and famous for their blue waters. A few kilometers away is Therma (the therapeutic hot springs).
Archaeological finds indicate Aghios Fokas was inhabited since prehistoric times.
