Thermes (Therma). At Thermes there is a warm-water well maintaining a temperature of 42-45 degrees Celsius (about 110o F). The Baths (Thermes) of Kos are located approximately 12 kilometers (7 mi) southeast of Kos town and a few kilometers beyond Aghios Fokas. Hot springs are found here and they are accessible by traveling over mountain slopes by car or by bus. The bus runs every half hour. While the Thermes are accessible via bike, be prepared for very steep slopes. If you arrive by bike you will need to walk a gravel road to finally reach the baths, but if you travel by car, you can drive the gravel road and avoid the walk. On top of the slope, there is a snack bar.
The hot water from a cave runs into the sea and stays warm between rocks and boulders. The water is very warm, giving you a nice hot bath. Scientists claim that there is a relationship between the warm water here and the volcanic island of Nisyros that is located exactly opposite the baths. The smell of sulphur is also very strong here.
