Tripoli (Tripolis). Tripoli is the capital of the prefecture of Arcadia in the Peloponnese, Greece. The city is built in the centre of a wooded plateau, at 650 meters above sea level, 160 kilometres from Athens. Tripolis is one of the most important agricultural and commercial areas of the Peloponnese. In this area can be found rivers and deep gorges, rich vegetation, ancient cities and Byzantine churches. The city of Tripoli is embellished by the Byzantine church of Agios Vassilis and some neoclassical houses. In one of those houses is the archaeological museum situated.
