Antisamos - Kefalonia (Greece)
Antisamos (Antisami). Antisamos is one of the most beautiful beaches of Kefalonia. It is in a beautiful bay, four kilometres northeast of Sami, just across the south coast of Ithaki Island. Antisamos is in a small seafront, surrounded by green mountains. On the beach, which consists of small white pebbles, there are two beach bars. Antisamos Beach is a quite beach but in the high season it turns to a very busy beach.
The beach is only via the village of Sami accessible, via a narrow road with a lot of bends. The route is beautiful, with amazing views of the white pebble bay and the turquoise sea water. You can also snorkel beautifully here. Please note, it is less suitable for small children because the sea is getting deeper soon. On the beach are free sunbeds provided when you buy a drink at one of the two beach bars or at the restaurant.
In the year 2000, movie scenes were recorded here for Captain Corelli's Mandolin with Nicolas Cage and Penélope Cruz. The story, which was featured in Kefalonia, was inspired by the novel of Louis de Bernières
