Kalotaritissa. Kalotaritissa is an agricultural area in the southwest of the island of Amorgos. You will not encounter a real village here but a number of hamlets such as Kalotaritissa and Kalofana. In this area are two main coves. In a bay lies the beautiful beach of Kalotaritissa which is located entirely in the most western point of Amorgos. The beach is in a closed bay and protected from waves and winds.
One kilometer (less than a mile) from here is a famous bay with To Navagio (the shipwreck). The wreck lies in the bay of Liveros. The ship, now called Olympia, was stranded here due to high winds in 1980 when it carried cement from Cyprus to Piraeus.
