Aeginitissa. Aeginitissa is located on the Greek island of Aegina. It is a lively and very popular sandy beach, which lies seven kilometres south of Aegina town and three kilometres north of Perdika.
This beach, which is surrounded by lots of plane trees, is well organised and attracts many young people. On the beach umbrellas and sunbeds are available and there is a bar-restaurant. Annually, beach tennis tournaments are held here during summer. There are also regular beach summer parties. The beach used to be owned by the monastery of Panagia Chrisoleontissa.
Between Aeginitissa and Aegina town is the village of Marathonas, with two popular beaches that are well organised in terms of sunbeds and umbrellas. At the first beach are many tavernas and cafeterias. Green trees and bushes surround these beaches. At the second beach is only a wooden canteen. In Marathonas are hotels and apartments. Because Marathonas lies partly on low hills, you have an excellent view of the coast, sea and mountains of the Peloponnese
Marathonas is a short distance from Aegina Town and therefore many wellknown and wealthy Greeks have bought a country house here.
