Potokaki. Potokaki is a typical tourist resort, three kilometers west of Pythagorion, near the airport of Samos. There's a long pebble beach which is well organised. In the village, and also just outside of it are many hotels, apartments, shops, minimarkets, cafeterias and restaurants.
Potokaki is often mentioned as part of Pythagorion, many hotels located in Potokaki mention on their websites that their accommodations are in Pythagorion while they are actually located in Potokaki. The connection to Pythagorion and Samos town is very good, several times a day buses are driving up and down.
Near the airport and all over the area are many ancient sites, you see archaeological remains here and there. Potokaki has just over one hundred permanent residents, most are engaged in tourism, but there are also fishermen and farmers.
Potokaki was founded in 1922 by Greek refugees from Turkey who first named the village Daskalio.
