Votsi. Votsi is a tourist coastal town on the island of Alonissos, a half kilometre northeast of Patitiri. It is a beautiful, tree-covered village with many hotels and apartments. Since it is situated on the slopes of low white cliffs, the view of the closed bay is very beautiful. In the bay there is a harbour where many yachts and fishing boats are moored. The sea water here is turquoise and the many pine trees around the bay are wonderful to see. A walk around the bay is definitely recommended, because the nature is impressively beautiful. The port is a small narrow pebble beach where you can swim, the beautiful beaches, however, are a bit further on especially Chrissi Milia and Milia and also Rousoum Gialos . At the harbour are a few tavernas and cafeterias. In Votsi live about five hundred people, many of them are fishermen. Votsi has been the name of a Greek admiral, Nikolaos Votsis, who in the year 1913, during the first Balkan War, torpedoed a Turkish flagship in the port of Thessaloniki.
