Argassi (Argasi). Argassi is a seaside village, four kilometres south of Zakynthos Town. Argassi, which is very touristy, is located in a beautiful green area, it has a large sandy beach which consists of several small bays where the water is crystal clear and shallow Water-sports enthusiasts will certainly not get bored here as there are all kinds of water sports available (jet skiing, parasailing, pedal boats). Argassi is a place with many hotels and apartments, some of which are on the plain and some are built on the hillside. In addition, there are plenty of entertainment venues, bars, shops, snack bars, bakers, mini markets and restaurants. Many residents of Zakynthos Town, come in the summer to Argassi because of the excellent nightlife. In some cases, there is also live Greek music and many well-known DJs come here to play music. Interesting sights in Argassi are a stone bridge with three arches built in 1806, the Roman aqueduct and the church of Agios Spyridon. At the top of the hill Skopos, is the monastery of Panagia Skopiotissa (17th century). According to Greek mythology, the Greek goddess Artemis has lived here. From here you have a beautiful view over Argassi and the sea. Many tourists visit the summit on foot, please note, it is 700 meters high! Xirokastello, which lies about four kilometres from Argassi, is a very lively village with a good nightlife (for people who love entertainment), and with very good restaurants. You can visit the ruins of a medieval castle here.
