Volimes - Zakynthos (Greece)
Volimes. Volimes is located 32 kilometres northwest of Zakynthos town. The village actually consists of two villages, Ano and Kato Volimes (Upper and Lower Volimes) These villages are 430 meters and 480 meters above the sea level. In Volimes live 1000 inhabitants who are mostly engaged in agriculture and stock breeding. The main attractions of the village are a few churches and a few old windmills. The church of Agia Paraskevi has a beautiful wooden iconostasis and a beautiful bell tower. In the village are a number of restaurants and many shops. Along the road are a lot of market stalls selling local products. Northeast of Volimes are the famous "Blue Caves" at Cape Skinari located.
