KANAPITSA and Tzaneria. Kanapitsa and Tzaneria are two beautiful sandy beaches on the Greek island of Skiathos. They are located a short walk from each other, about eight kilometres from Skiathos Town. Kanapitsa is also the name of the peninsula and the name of the cape here. Following the state road, Kanapitsa and Tzaneria can be reached by exiting from the crossroads.
The road to Kanapitsa goes through a forested hill and descends down to a beautiful sandy beach, with pine trees reaching the sea. On the narrow beach are several terraces where you can have a drink and eat something. The beach is narrow, but has all the amenities; There are sunbeds and umbrellas and you can also do water sports and scuba diving. You can rent a boat and sail around the island. On the beach is also a small wooden pier, where shuttle boats moor to bring tourists to Skiathos town.
Also Tzaneria has such a beautiful beach, it is located on the other side of the cape of Kanapitsa. Green trees reach also to the beach here and water sports, sun loungers and parasols are available. The only difference lies in the fact that the Tzaneria beach is wider than the beach of Kanapitsa. In Kanapitsa and Tzaneria are several hotels, rooms and apartments for rent. From the main road an hourly bus goes to Skiathos town and to other beaches on the island. In Kanapitsa and Tzaneria live about a hundred permanent residents.
