Megali Ammos - Skiathos (Greece)

Megali Ammos. Megali Ammos Beach is located at Skiathos Town. The village Ftelia is near Megali Ammos. Actually there are two beaches adjacent. Megali Ammos is located about two kilometres from Skiathos town. It is a narrow beach, down the slopes of higher, beautifully clad mountain. On the beach where beach chairs and umbrellas are for rent, and all kinds of water sports available, there are several restaurants and cafeterias. On the slopes of the mountain are hotels and apartments as well as rooms and villas for rent.

Ftelia  is located about three kilometres from Skiathos Town. Ftelia has the same characteristics as Megali Ammos. Both beaches are at a short drive from Skiathos Town and easy to reach. The buses go once an hour. Nearby are a number of mini markets. Many tourists visit Megali Ammos and Ftelia on foot. Strolling to the beaches from Skiathos Town takes about thirty minutes. In Megali Ammos and Ftelia live about a hundred permanent residents.
