Molyvos (or Mythimna). Molyvos is very beautiful and special! It is a picturesque village on the Greek island of Lesbos. Molyvos is located in the northern part of the island and built on a hill. It has a colourful fishing port and picturesque, narrow streets and it's actually the most attractive village of Lesbos.
The sight of the cottages at the mountain, with the castle on top is beautiful. It is an authentic, real Greek village. It is touristy, but it has retained its traditional style, with cobbled-streets that run up and down. It is less suitable for people with mobility problems, but for strollers it is no problem at all.
In Molyvos, which is located 68 kilometres northwest of Mytilene, are all kinds of nice shopping streets with souvenir shops and mini markets. There are lots of good restaurants and tavernas, some have stunning views towards the bay of Molyvos. Molyvos is also an excellent starting point for nice trips around the island, as it is quite central.
The pebble beach at Molyvos is perhaps less attractive, but in the immediate vicinity are the beautiful beaches of Petra and Anaxos. People in Molyvos also deserve to be mentioned; they are very friendly, helpful and welcoming.
