Plomari. Ploamari is located in the south of the Greek island of Lesbos, 48 kilometres west of Mytilene. Plomari is known worldwide for its excellent ouzo. On the route to Plomari you will first pass the villages Plagia and Trigona and arrive at Agios Isodoros with its beautiful sandy beach.
In Plomari are small shipyards which were considered in the past to be the best anchorages of the Aegean Sea. There are also ancient olive presses and tanneries, characteristics of the industrial prosperity of this region in the past. The old soap factory changed after renovation into a modern cultural centre.
Plomari lies on the slopes of a mountain, it has lovely small streets, traditional architecture and much tourist growth and development. About ten kilometres away is Megalogori, also known as "The Switzerland of Lesbos".
Another important mountain village Paleogori with the beautiful beach of Melinda. A little further is the beach of Vatera which is over seven kilometres long.
