Agia Galini
AGIA GALINI. The most beautiful village of South Crete!
Agia Galini, 60 kilometres from Heraklion,
is a fantastic place
to spend your holidays. In origin it was a fishing-village,
and
infact
it
still is.
Agia Galini is a fine starting point to visit all kind of
beautiful places
and curiosities, but also offers a very good atmosphere.
From Agia Galini you can take
a daytrip by boat, car, motor or bus. Its nice to go to
Matala, Plakias, Rethymnon,
the ancient archaeological sites of
Festos, Gortys and Agia
Triada, the Samaria
Gorge, the palmbeach and monastery of Preveli.
Agia Galini is a beautiful, friendly place with its white
houses
built up the side of a steep hill, hospitable people and
with its clear,
blue
Lybian
sea. The
small streets, free of cars, with taverna's and restaurants
and bars are the perfect location to spend your evening.
The main road ends in the beautiful harbour where children
as
wel
as adults are fishing every day! The child-friendly beach
is at 5 minutes walking from the village. In Agia Galini
is a real nice nightlife; visit
Juke box
Club
and Paradiso.
