Stavromenos. Stavromenos is a village in the eastern part of the bay of Rethymnon on the island of Crete. There are several supermarkets, a butcher, a few tavernas, kafeneions and some other shops. The new national road from Rethymnon (12 km) to Heraklion (71 km) lies between the village and the beach. There is a bus every hour in both directions and during the summer every half hour. In summer there are more shops and restaurants open. Heraklion Airport is 79 km away, and the Chania Airport 82 km.
