Ixia. Ixia, a tourist resort on the Greek island of Rhodes, is actually a suburb of Rhodes town. Ixia lies in the southwest of Rhodes town. It is located in the municipality of Ialyssos and the villages of Trianda, Ixia and Ialyssos are close together and so they are often mentioned together. Ixia is one of the most popular resorts on Rhodes. Here you can experience the most spectacular sunsets.
This area is popular due to the favorable winds that make it an ideal place for surfing. There are several surf schools. It is also a good snorkeling area. Along the main road of Ixia you will find many restaurants, bars and hotels. In this area of the island there are more luxurious hotels and resorts.
The beach consists mainly of gravel, pebbles and sand. A taxi from Ixia to Rhodes Town costs about 10 euros and every 15 minutes a bus stops on its direct route to the town. Ixia is located about 20 minutes from Rhodes town.
