Afissos. The large village of Afissos is located on the coast of the Pagasitic gulf in Pelion, Greece. Afissos is amphitheatrically built on the hills. Afissos, which falls under the municipality Afetes, is a quaint village that more resembles an island, surrounded by three beautiful beaches: Kallifteri, Lagoudi and Ampovo. Afissos still has the authentic character of a fishing village with boats peacefully bobbing in the harbor.
On the shady square of Afissos, water flows from the fountain which was built, according to tradition, by the Argonauts right before their trip to the Far Kolchida.
Afissos, with its many green, floral, calm waters and lively flow, is perfect for trips to the surrounding villages of Pelion.
