Apollonas. Apollonas is a seaside town in the northeast of the island of Naxos, 35 kilometers (21 mi) from Naxos town (Chora). Apollonas is built on a rocky peninsula that juts into a bay. Apollonas Beach is on the eastern side. On this side of the bay is the harbor where small fishing boats and tourist boats moor. At the harbor, the waterfront and the beach, are many traditional taverns and a few terraces.
Just outside Apollonas, there is the ancient marble with a rich history. On a hill west of Apollonas, is the ancient colossal statue of a "Kouros" that attracts many tourists. The statue is 11 meters (114 ft) high.
