Potamia. Potamia, on the Greek island of Naxos, is actually not a village, but three villages. These three villages are situated next to each other on the route from Naxos town to Filoti. From west to east are the Kato Potamia (Lower Potamia, eight kilometers or five miles from Naxos Town), Mesi Potamia (Middle Potamia 10 kilometers or about eight miles) and Ano Potamia (Upper Potamia 11 kilometers or about seven miles).
The three villages are located on the slopes of a hill. On that hill, water is plentiful and as a result, the area is beautifully vegetated. The villages are beautiful with several mills and medieval towers. The inhabitants of these villages, a total of fewer than 300 people, are mainly farmers.
