Neochori

Neochori - Corfu (Greece)

Neochori (Neohori). Neochori is a quiet little village in the south of Corfu. It lies between Lefkimi and Kavos. Neochori literally means "new village", actually it is an old village. It was founded round the year 1350 AD next to another village, called Paleochori, which means ‘old village’.  So the inhabitants had to give their village another name thus the name Neochori. In Greece, many villages have been called Neochori. Neochori is a beautifully village with many gardens, a few cafes and tavernas.
