Gouves - Heraklion Prefecture (Greece)

GOUVES. Gouves is a seaside resort on the island of Crete. It is located about 20 kilometres from Heraklion, the capital of Crete. Gouves lies actually between Heraklion and Hersonissos and has a very good sandy beach. By establishing many hotels in Gouves, it has turned into a nice holiday resort. Gouves is centrally located and is a good base for exploring the island. In Gouves there are plenty of nice restaurants and tavernas. Compared to other resorts on the north coast of Crete Gouves is a quiet place. Although there are some nice bars here, for the real nightlife one would be better going to Hersonissos or Heraklion.
