Vrises (Vryses). Vrises is a lovely village on the Greek island of Crete with about 800 inhabitants. It is located 30 km southeast of Chania city. When driving from Chania to the south of the island, for example to go to Chora Sfakion (Sfakia) you will pass through this village. It is located in the middle of a beautiful wooded valley full of plane trees and a lot of running water. The area is known for its milk products sold here. Their variety of tasty cheeses and yogurt is delicious So if you pass through this village, stop at one of the terraces and order yogurt with honey. The inhabitants of this village are generally farmers and stockbreeders. In the village there are several restaurants where you can order delicious Cretan specialties. There are all kinds of shops and cafés.

Around the village there are many more traditional villages, each with its own charm.
- In the village Nipos is the Church of the Holy Mother Perviolitsiani from 14 th century.
- In the village of Fres, stands the church of Evangelistria and 2 other Byzantine churches respectively from the 13th and 14th centuries.
- In Maza in the village square, the church of Agios Nikolaos which was built in the 14th century.
- Alidakis castle at the village Emprosneros middle of green nature with lots of running water.
